Chat Suggestion

I was wondering if its a good idea if we set a fixed time every week (on a certain day of a weekend, for instance) for “Official” chats? Then we won’t be getting nick-of-time chat annoucements anymore, except maybe for special occasions.

I second the idea.

Also, Rich, thanks for putting the number of people chatting on the main page small print.

Kardshark and I usually go in the chat room and hang out while we’re on line, so if it shows 1 person chatting, come on in.

It appears that only a few people have been using the C&F chat interface…
I’ve tried it a few times and it’s been painfully slow using my browser. Instead, I use mIRC’s interface and directly connect to the IRC channel. If you like to chat and are holding back because of the interface you might try downloading the free program mIRC. Go to http://www.mirc.com and get the download. It’s a really small, easy to use program that works without affecting your browser. So, what’s holding you back now??

ok Tony, I downloaded it. Now how do I set this up to connect?

Never mind, fixed it. New problem - if you don’t come in via the web interface, it shows zero chatting even though I’m there.

I usually check the number of people chatting when I get on the Message Board at home, and if I see anyone there, I’ll join in.

BTW, isn’t one person chatting a sign of impending mental collapse? :stuck_out_tongue:

P.S. - Nancy, that was a very enjoyable and informative chat with you the other night! The Irish tour site was neat!

Slan agat!

one person chatting is an inviation to chat…

Yeah.. I noticed that the chat counter can’t see the users who are directly connected to the IRC channel… so hopefully more people will be curious to see who is chatting with mIRC or not.
