Someone here made a carpet lined tube that the chanter and hands could go into.

Morten came up with the idea, and I have made one too. It works really well, sound wise, but it’s very cumbersome. I’m thinking of trying a foam-lined bag too.

I gave up on it as well - when my wife asked: why don’t you make a soundproof practise-box in our spare room?

Allmost like a telephone booth - but with heavy insulation. I’m working on it…Ooohhh to practise in the middle of the night

Don’t wish - it might come true - we spent allmost this entire last year living in a building site, no time or place for practise or playing… I think I deserve it to use a little space for my passion

I remember once when I used to live in London being told to shut up by a neighbour who worked night shifts (I played it during the day on a weekend about 11am). I was as careful to play ‘at sensible times’ whilst there but still couldn’t win!

So I moved out to the back of beyond here in sunny Wales where the sheep are the only ones who can hear! Since then, my quality of life and skill levels have significantly improved!

I recommend simply moving to ‘the back of beyond’.
