A young boy I know who plays the trumpet in his junior high school band saw me play the pennywhistle one day. I was at his family’s home the other day and his grandma showed me his new pennywhistle. It travels a whole lot better in the van than his trumpet does. His family prefers the lower octave. Sure beats the cost of another band instrument too.
