Thanks for The Montain Road tip…I have ordered it. I saw the playlist and that wil keep me busy for some time I imagine. In doing so I found this Celtic Grooves website. Do you know if it is good place from which to order?

CG’s proprietor, Philippe Varlet, is wonderfully knowledgeable about Irish music recordings from the earliest days to the present. He’s one of the most valuable members of Irtrad-l (in my opinion) and his reviews of recordings are very well-worth considering. To be honest, I’ve never bought any recordings from him, but that’s only because I buy very few and they’re almost all used and cheap, and the new ones I buy I get from an excellent local source (Down Home Music, a few miles north of me). If it weren’t for Down Home I’d definitely order my two or three a year from him.

Lizzie, CG is where I ordered my copy of the Mountain Road. Philippe has great knowledge and (as you probably saw) a huge list of hard-to-get recordings for sale. If I could afford it, I’d probably order a hundred dollars worth of CDs from him every couple of months…
It kills me that I had a chance to buy the album and tunebook back when I had only been playing for a year, and passed it up for some stupid reason or the other. (I think maybe it was that I’d only heard of one tune in the book, and I already knew how to play that one.) Finally wised up and bought it a couple of years later. Over the last three years I’ve listened to it over and over again, and I still keep the tunebook within arm’s reach of my work desk. (In fact, it’s sitting on top of the printer, open to the Five Mile Chase.)
PS Don’t forget to ask Loretto about the musicians mentioned in the book! 
Sol, I did! She certainly knew most of the names. She seemed not to know about that Cd and wants to hear it when I get it. The neat thing is that when I was talking to Phillippe on the phone I mentioned Loretto’s name and he remembered hearing her play in Ireland in the late seventies. His memory sure is better than mine. And he is interested in hearing about her Cds and I have put her in touch with him. So who knows what will happen just because you mentioned that CD to me…so thanks again!
