A couple of people have asked me what whistle it was, so I thought I’d post to say that it’s one of the Adler whistles formerly marketed by Lark in the Morning.
The same as the one pictured,
but without a logo.

Ah, Walden – down the slippery slope of wooden whistles. Today, an Adler, tomorrow a Busman, maybe eventually a Grinter and a Thin Weasel. There’s nothing else like them.
Just ordered a Grinter F. Listen to Lunasa or Paddy Keenan and you’ll understand why.
No wonder in a previous thread someone said Adlers looked like recorders.

Yes. The ones that Zoob posted pictures of are the Weltmeisters, and the one I was playing is the Classic model. Both are available from Hobgoblin.
Ralph Sweet offers an improved Adler Classic at his site for US$50.

My German is pretty non-existant as well, but I see these whistles have ‘chiffig’- Hmm..‘Chiffig und Fippeln’ sounds suitably Teutonic for a German whistle obsessives’ website!

I haven’t tried the Weltmeister, but this whistle will play well at least up to third octave G, with little difficulty.
They’re also selling the painted-over flawed Adler recorders under the name Weltmeister (which basically means “world champ”). See the link below.
