As played in Riverdance, (i know I know)
I can find the first half but am haveing problems with the 2nd half of the tune.

Hi Jordan,
You’d better know right from the get go that this tune written recently for Riverdance is Copyrighted to the teeth!!! Unless you’re planning on playing it only for yourself and perhaps a few friends be careful and for Heaven’s sake DON’t EVEN THINK about recording it! You’re looking at probably several hundred and sometimes several thousand dollars to buy the rights to perform/record this piece and you have to get permissios from copyright offices both here in the states (or in Canada) and in Ireland as well. As for sheet music, I seem to recall that there was a Riverdance tune book put out several years back - but as I don’t read the little black dot thingies…I didn’t follow that very closely. 
In the U.S., the current statuatory royalty rate for a mechanical license is 8.5 cents (per copy for a 5-minute or shorter song). You would have to distribute 1,176 copies of your CD before you’d owe the copyright owner a hundred dollars. Since it has already been recorded and distributed, you don’t need to seek permission to record it, you just need to pay for the license. You don’t have to pay anything to play it in public, but the venue owner would owe performance royalties, which they have probably already paid for through blanket contracts with the performing rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, etc.) I’m not sure how the law works in Canada, but I doubt that it’s substantially different that it is in the states.
A new ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada allows you to copy just about anything once for “study” purposes. Originally intended for lawyers copying legal writings, but left ambiguous enough to open an enormous can of worms for just about any type of copyrighted material. This, in turn, will keep the lawyers happily employed for years.

I’m just intrested for my own playing enjoyment as i have no intention to play for $ at this time.
The book with the music from “Riverdance” does not have this tune in it, my friend bought it for that purpose and it was not included 
TRUST ME on this one - I extensively researched this very tune about three years ago. It is a MUCH bigger can of worms than you’d think. Bill Whelan isn’t one who likes just anyone playing his tunes. Dig a little deeper before you count yourself as ‘safe’ here.
Just listen to it so much that you can sing it and then learn it on the pipes… it’s not difficult.

If you really are heart set on picking this tune up - its a good one to work on ear training with. That’s how I did it way back when myself. It’s in G (I think so anyway) and there is a second octave Cnat. at one point but other than that it wasn’t strange or difficult to pick out I thought…
The arrangement that Davy Spallane does in Riverdance is published
the book “Riverdance - The Music”, published by Amsco Publications.
I have learned it from this music. It has it’s challenges but is a great
piece to learn.
