I would like to know what is the period of time when the maker Metzler of London worked at the “105, Wardour Street”. I would like to date two flutes that seems distant each other for their particoular style but both marked in this way…

According to the New Langwill Index, the 105 Wardour St. address was used from 1812 to around 1842. The name part of the stamp may provide more clues: here is additional information from Langwill:

1812-1815 V. Metzler, 105 Wardour St
1816-1833 Metzler & Son, 105 Wardour St
1837 Metzler & Co, 105 Wardour St
1840 - c1842 Geo. Metzler & Co., 105 Wardour St

Then they moved to 37 Great Marlborough St.
