Can Anyone ID this flute

Hi,
I think I posted about this a while ago but I didn’t have any pictures.
Anyway, I have a flute and I have no idea what kind it is. I know it probably came from Japan, but it plays a rather sharp western A scale. It has a pretty pleasant tone into the third octive (so far as I can tell, I sort of suck playing it) and the fingerings are the same as any six-hole flute, but it has an extra hole on the bottom (a thumb hole?) that I just keep covered when I play. The inside is painted red and something that looks line an “A” is marked on the end, but I couldn’t get a good picture of that…

hole on bottom at open end of flute–impossible to cover, so I think it’s there for tuning purposes.

underside of flute. See “thumb hole.” I have no idea what it’s for.

looks like a commercially-made Asian flute. (japanese/chinese)
the good ones have couple holes for rice paper to cover them so they “buzz” when you play them.

The thumb hole is likely for the note C (just a guess since I can’t try it).
Cover the hole while you play, first finger down and lift the thumb and you’ll probably get the C note.

I think its Ryuteki flute. However, im not very sure as i’ve never seen or tried one. Just saw it on internet. U can find some more information by asking Mr Google.

Cheers.
