Anyone ever heard of Calura Whistles? I haven’t seen them mentioned here before. These are currently on Ebay:
I have a Calura in the key of C, and it is an old whistle. It’s a bit like an old Clark and sounds very similar. If I remember correctly, others here on the board have them, too, and can probably tell you more than I have.

Larry’s right. They were an old pre-WWII, possibly toy, whistle along the lines of the Clarke Original. The quote on the sale ad is actually from Dale, taken from the C&F website. I’ve two or three, as well as a few others that were very similar with names like Eagle and Pied Piper. I’ve seen Caluras and Pied Pipers in numerous colors, others in gold on black only. Keys I’ve seen include B (not Bb), C, E, F and G (not D, curiously), and I have them in B, C, E and G. Nice additions to a collection as curiosities, not so hot as instruments.
Couple of oddities in this pair. First, they’re in probably the best condition I’ve ever seen, with few dents and only minor paint scarring, esp on the fipple. Second, up until now I thought they were all German. I’ve never seen one marked Made in US before.
