Dunno if it’s common knowledge or been posted here before, but i just happened onto Calabash Music which is a “fair trade” download service highlighting international music:
Our equal exchange business model and focus on international artists is revitalizing the music industry in developing nations around the globe. When our artists sell their music directly to you, they keep half the money from each sale and they avoid the high costs of manufacturing, marketing and distributing their music on CDs.
I just took a cursory look and it appears their Ireland section has some of the old out-of-print Green Linnet titles, like chromatic harmonica pioneer Eddie Clarke, melodeon player Tom Doherty, Kevin Burke’s Open House, 3 Way Street (w/Seamus Egan/Mick Moloney/Eugene O’Donnell), etc. Also a decent selection in currently available titles in Iroid and other musics.
Looks like you can buy singles for 99 cents or packs of 10 or 20 tracks for $7.99 and $14.99 respectively. I haven’t DLd anyting yet but it looks interesting so far and i thought i’d let y’all know about it… ![]()
