C&F Tune of the Month

Visiting with relatives…strange house, too windy to walk, most of the household still asleep..I was cruising around the C&F website checking out zones I hadn’t viewed in a long time and ran across the C&F Tune of the Month. I found myself wondering: Who is Robert Doiel? Does anyone on the board use the TOTM? Perhaps Dale should highlight this feature in the next newsletter? Why does my brother cook eggs, bacon, toast, the whole breakfast deal, when he knows I’ve been on a diet for the past 30 years? If you could put together a “dream” group of musicians to play the C&F TOTM, who would be in it, playing what instrument? (These folks would have to be alive…I mean, you can’t have Seamus Ennis on pipes.)

I think I need a Diet Coke.

Okay. I’ve finished a large Diet Coke, re-read my post, and it still makes sense. What’s not to understand? Do you look at the Tune of the Month? Do you learn it? (Okay, the part about breakfast was my tribute to Ciaran Carson for the day, and the ITM Dream Team was an afterthought.)

Well, once in a while I’ll use the Tune of the Month Archives on C&F… haven’t looked at them in a while. Sometimes I’ll look there if I’m trying to find an obscure tune that’s not at WW’s archives, or Sessioneer.
