Please will members who busk list the best locations they’ve found for busking (best for making money that is), anywhere in the world.
Rue St Michel, Paris
Killarney, the street
Probably San Francisco, downtown
Opera singers, even.
In New Orleans I had the best luck on Toulouse. Avoid Jackson Square. There’s too much competition and the artisans kind of rule the roost because they have permits and can complain if you’re too loud (I was playing GHB). Musicians require permits too but when I busked in New Orleans the police weren’t allowed to ask musicans for their permits due to a pending lawsuit. That’s been a few years though.
In Denver I had good results on the 16th St. Mall. I had poor luck however as it was either cold or one time I broke a reed.
In Seattle you can jockey for a spot at Pike Market.
Rue St. Michel must be a slugfest, Jim. That’s busking central. The Left Bank is a wise choice either way.
Anybody busked in Amsterdam or Prague?

I was doing OK in Innsbruck in the Old City,
till the police ran me off. You need a license.
Saw a fellow doing OK with a hurdy gurdy
in Cork.
Did not do well on the Boulder Mall,
but maybe I would do better with
a flute–I was playing whistle.
Cambridge MA on the street in the summer,
had plenty of musicians.
Downtown SF? yeah i spose, just be careful, they have a serious homeless problem and unlike Philly they can’t solve it. Union Square on weekends might be nice, there is also the Embarcadero area, near Pier 39 on nice days. I would also hit Ghirardelli Square on a nice day. You’ll run into your quechua pan flute players… but i still haven’t seen anything remotely ITM in SF, closest thing is the Highland Piper with no undies… 
he’s not that good either.
But then ‘some’(the fakers) street beggars in Downtown are known to make a good amount of money, i mean they rival people who actually work productively.

Cornmarket in Oxford tends to be fairly decent, I think BuskerSean can speak for this as he declined an offer to be an employee at a bike shop to busk as he makes more in a day piping on Cornmarket.
I can’t speak from experience, but the major bridge in Prague that connects the main square with the castle has quite a few buskers.
