Hi All,
I just returned from 91 DAYS in So. Calif. Boy, what a wonderful
winter…no jackets; shorts every day; and I have a wonderful
tan already. Anyway,
It is legal, and even encouraged by all that Street Musicians play
in Santa Barbara. Evidentally the tourists love it.
So I tried it twice to see what would happen .
The first time I sat on a bench and played thru my tunebook.
It took exactly one-hour and at the end I had gotten $13.00 in tips!
Since that had been St. Pats Day, I wasn’t sure if I could get tips a 2nd time, so about a week later I went to a large Farmers Market. There
were 6 other various musicians there too. Again, I only played one-hour
and got tips of $11.50 in spite of all the competition.
So, it was an interesting winter, and I sure hope we can be “Snowbirds”
and stay warm next winter too.
It IS good to be back home tho and have a computer again and get to
talk to all you people. I see you changed the Forum and I have to
come up with a pix now!!!
