I was going to purchase a Kerry Pro F Tunable but they aren’t available anymore and Overton doesn’t offer a Tunable Low F. I haven’t heard much about Burkes Al-Pro Aluminum low F whistles, Do they sound more like Overtons or Copelands?
Well, they sound more like Burke’s… Definately not like an Overton which has a more reedy sound. Perhaps more comparable to Copeland although I think the Burke has better balance between the octaves and is easier to blow. But why is tunable important? On a low F I wouldn’t think this would be much of an issue. Not to discourage you from buying a Burke you understand, that’s what I’d go for, but tuneability wouldn’t enter into it.
Email Colin. from what I understand, he is into making “Custom” whistles. It may take longer but I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to do it. I have his F Overton and it’s in tune. I can play along with a bunch of blues and jazz CD’s and have no problem at all. The F that I have by him is absolutly amazing. I love it.

I have a Burke Low F Alu Pro, and it’s an amazing instrument! The sound is beautifully balanced, sweet and centered. It’s very well in tune with itself, and the scale is very even. It’s easy to play, and it has an amazingly agile high register - it makes a big, almost husky low register like an alto flute, yet you can play fast jigs and reels in the high range! I think of it as a Bb with a low F extension! It’s the best of all possible worlds - I highly recommend it.
