Hey, don’t laugh at me–I know it’ll sound kind-of funky on a tinwhistle and I wouldn’t play them in public. Might just invest in a cheap recorder so I can get the sharps. It’s really just a fun way for me to practice fingering and timing.
But, anyway–does anyone know of a freeware/shareware program that will put sheet music in another key? D, specifically. Maybe I’ll get a C soon, but… eh.
I don’t know. I don’t think you know “bored” until you’ve heard me trying to belt out “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” or “Think of Me” on my dinky little Clarke…
At the end of ‘Les Mis’ when Jean Valjean dies, and Fantine sings “Come with me, where chains can never bind you,” which never fails to bring me to tears? I can play that on a D whistle.
And then there’s the uplifting finale which gives you hope and makes you feel good despite the sadness. That part I cannot play. But I sing it a lot.
