now the questions i wanted to ask are about breath control i have a sneaky feeling that something is not right as there is an amount of saliva coming out of the end of my flute that doesnt seem quite right. Also can anyone explain to me this half- fingering method as i currently have a keyless flute and am on a upward battle of trying to find tunes to suit the thing and have them ready by june. So there it goes guys! all suggestions appreciated nasty sincere and hopefully this time you might hit the nail right on the head.
Playing in cool temperatures like those in a coldish room can have an, er, dampening effect on your flute-playing (not to mention on the floor beneath you); warm breath in cool flute = condensation = drips.
Also, drinking liquid (Guinness, anyone?) while playing will wet the proverbial whistle.
There is no shortage of tunes out there that are fine for a keyless flute & require minimal encounters with the dreaded “half-holing”. Got any particular requirements – i.e., are we talking a wedding or what? And what key is your flute in?
