Brian Finnegan When The Party's Over

OK, as I hinted at some time ago, I now have a quantity of Brian Finnegan’s first solo CDs available. As good as you said, and a lot
more flute content (6 of the 13 tracks, Whistle on the others) than you guys led me to believe. However, I’d prefer not to sell them, but to trade them for items to add to the ITMS library. This includes any worthy flute, piping or whistle CDs, and any of the typical tunebooks. I’m willing to trade either the Brian Finnegan CD and/or copies of The Wooden Flute Obsession 2-CD sets. Here are a few things I’m looking for, but I’m open to suggestions. We’re located in Los Angeles, California,USA and ship internationally. Please email me OFF-LIST with any offers.

FLOOK: Any except FLATFISH

HARRY BRADLEY: AS I CARELESSLY DID STRAY.

P.J. CROTTY & JAMES CULLINAN: HAPPY TO MEET.

SEAMUS QUINN & GARY HASTINGS: SLÁN LE LOCH ÉIRNE.

CHRISTY BARRY & CONOR McCARTHY: LATE… IN THE NIGHT.

P.J. & MARCUS HERNON (FEENISH): RABHARTA

JOHN CREAVEN: THE STORY SO FAR

MICHAEL McHALE: THE SCHOOLMASTER’S HOUSE

RONAN BROWN & PETER O’LAUGHLIN: THE SOUTH WEST WIND

RONAN BROWN & PETER O’LAUGHLIN: TOUCH ME IF YOU DARE

Kevin, I have sent you a private message.

Another fantastic CD with some mind blowing whistle and flute playing. If you’ve got anything to trade Kevin, do it for sure. Geeze I’ve about worn that CD out. Warning: Not strictly trad, although it’s not “Out There” either.

And everyone already has Flook Flatfish and Rubai, right? Don’t make me come kick your ass for not having those…

loren, got those too;-)

Yeah, but I bet you don’t have Maalstrom! I’m so evil

There are some cool tracks on the Maalstrom CD, although to be honest, some of the stuff doesn’t work for me, but it’s worth having just for the good stuff. I posted a link a while back…

Loren

dats rite dude, ain’t got no swede-cd, maalström, lol

loren, I can also recommend John McCusker (2 solo cds), former fiddler of the Battlefield Band, or also one of the newer Battlefield Band Cds.

mindblowing is the word. But I’m still not that convinced about Rubai…

Rubai too far out there for you?

IR Trad it ain’t, that’s for sure!

Loren
P.S. Amar, I’ll check out the other thing you mentioned one of these days for sure.

Loren, betcha fused’s blowin yer mind, aye?

Yeah man, it’s destined to become one of my all time faves for sure. I’ll write up a little review eventually, but just too wornout to do it at the moment. Gotta say though, FUSED Rocks!!! Er, maybe Swings!! is more accurate

Actually, I’m more likely to listen to far-out than to geezer type trad recordings. I like my Irish music to have jazz/rock/funk influences, more complex chords and rhythms, etc. There’s good stuff on Rubai, no doubt abt it. It’s just that…I dunno…I felt the album somehow didn’t hang together that well for me.

This is in comparison to “Flook”, “When the Party’s Over”, and “Fused” which I agree was also good.

Loren, dude, I knew it. Think we’d get along well, similar interests, hehe..

See the start message of this thread for details. I still have copies left.
