Alright folks, one more stupid question.
Does anybody know the notes for the score of Braveheart?
I suppose one part of it to be sth like his:
e g a-a-a b D ba g d g
“arrows cost money. take the Irish, they cost nothing”

Are you sure that’s the key of D? Methinks that c is supposed to be natural.
I thought the way it was played in the movie was something like this, in 4/4 rather than 3/4 (pardon my ABC):
EG |: A3c B-B/c/B/AG |1 GAE4 EG :|2 A6 eg ||
a2ge d
But offhand I don’t know how the rest of it goes.
Maybe this, in C:
| a2ge d2cd | fedc A2 EG | ..

No, I’m not sure, I started from a midi recording (with 8 voices) that I imported into Melody Assistant. I thought it was in E minor or (E Dorian).
When I play it I actually play it a whole note higher than written but still in the Key signature of D. (c=>c# and F=>F#)
For example my poor ABC of what I play is:
FA_B4 |dc B2 A2 |(B)A_B (E)F4 |
FA_B4 |dc B4 |A(B)A_B4
B2 d2 f4 |e2 d2 |B4 A2 |
B2 d c3 |B2 A2 F(e)F7 |
FA_B4 |dc B2 A2 |(B)A_B (E)F4 |
FA_B4 |dc B4 |A(B)A_B4 |]
Where ‘()’ surround grace notes, ‘_’ indicate slides, lower case is the second octave.
The tempo designated is approximate.
That my poor attempt and Honer’s tune.
Hope this helps you further …

Hi,
While I was trying to remember the melody my roommate asks me “hey, trying to learn the theme from Braveheart?” Turns out he has the soundtrack on CD. I played along, and this is what I got:
Q:1/4=60
M:4/4
K:C
EG |: A3c B-B/c/4B/4AG |1 GAE4 EG :|2 G2A4 EG ||
|: A3c B-B/c/4B/4AG |1 GAE4 EG :|2 A6 eg ||
| a2ge d2cd | fedc A2 EG | A3c B-B/c/4B/4AG | A8 ||
I guess it’s A Aolean == C Ionian
