Boxwood Rudall on ebay

I don’t feel rich enough, is that a patent head?

Yes, it’s back again - see old threads… (can’t be bothered to go hunting to link 'em) - it’s the one that has been listed at the Manchester Hobgoblin for yonks and this is (I think) it’s 3rd successive re-listing on eBay, presumably by the owner who must have had it on consignment at Hobgoblin…

Aha I thought it was familiar, that lined blow hole.

What’s it lined with? Ivory?

Arrrr! That be Dicky Moe… the great boxwood whale!

It might as well be a white elephant.

Mmmmmmm Boxwood Rudall

Someone buy the poor thing, and I will make a new head and barrel of it… :smiling_imp:

:waah:

Do you think the original head will do it justice? It didn’t seem like there was any consensus before of how the ivory inset got there, and when.

Yes, the head is serviceable, but with a light weight Boxwood body, the flute becomes vary head heavy. The ivory insert is probably the original, but hard to prove, unless there is some mention in the R&R ledger. The thought for the insert was to have harder edge on the embouchure, but they also did this as a repair.
You should get it! :poke:

And it has finally gone - at a pretty decent price of £2.9k - and I can say with certainty now that the vendor was indeed, as previously (in another thread) surmised, Conor Moloney.

Oh, and FWIW it looks as though Hobgoblin have finally updated their second hand listings - there are currently no woodwinds at all listed at the Manchester branch - so I guess the other flutes previously listed there have either sold or been withdrawn.

any relation to Patsy?

Dunno.
