Rats! I was hoping nobody else noticed it!

Pat

Sorry, Pat. I hope you weren’t bidding. I never know whether it is a service or not to make a post about these auctions. I’ve lost several items due to last minute “heads up” announcements like this one. Maybe we should call a moratorium on such posts and let the interested parties find them on their own and bid it out fair and square.

Feadoggie

I haven’t put a bid in yet - I’m waiting for his reply on shipping… It’ll probably go for WAY more than I can afford, anyway.

Pat

It’s kind of exciting.

Am I right that the tone holes are very big?

's Boosey (%#ing Pratten’s Perfected fer &^&)&*^'s sake, innit?

Yeah, it’s kind of exciting (in it’s own way). While I do like watching fireworks, I have no interest in making bombs myself anymore. I’ll just sit here and watch the show.

Feadoggie

No, this doesn’t have any holes and the short F key is on the bottom of the head joint.

It makes it really easy to play backwards.

OK here’s some context.

I play some Pratten-style flutes, including a Cotter, which has pretty big holes,
but doable. I’ve found that on some Pratten copies, however,
the holes are SO big that they present a problem. I’m using classical grip
and fingers tend to get lost.

What I want to know is whether the keys on this particular flute are
VERY big. E.G. as big as the Hammy’s or bigger still.
They look prohibitively big.

Also I’ve heard that the tuning on these is pretty good.
Is this so, generally?

very fair price.
I wasn’t willing to pay it…but glad it got something respectable for such a late Boosey.

anyone here get it?

Not me but inquiring minds want to know.
