I stumbled across this Aly Bain track here:

There seem to be other tunes around with the same title. Could anyone tell me anything about the origins of the various “Bonaparte’s Retreat”. Is there a heirarchy of originality and if so, what’s the oldest version? Of the one’s I’ve heard, I like Aly’s the best.
