Boffyflow & Spike

Several years ago, I learned this tune by playing along with the Chieftains recording, on a Copeland D - the half-holing was very tolerable, and fun. I would like to find the sheet music, so I can help others with this challenging tune. He’p me, he’p me !

No more than 60,000 characters? Sounds like the C&F membership.

Here’s a version from IrTrad-L. Copy and paste at http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html for the dots. Can’t vouch for its accuracy…

Best wishes.

Steve

Hmm, Van Morrison. The first part reminds me of Old Joe Clark. A very quick transcription. I believe the piper is Davy Spillane. Play it on a C whistle to match the recording.

The keys K:A, K:D and K:G, are wrong, though the first two key signatures will be right. Don’t know if the Chieftains version is different from the Van M. album.

…[idiotic paranoid ravings of an overpunctilious git]…

Sorry. Didn’t see the copyright warnings on the IrTrad site. Deleted abc’s of tune above.

Best wishes.

Nah, no need for that; I just got spooked. I forgot that our stated policy is to do takedowns of such things upon owner request. My apologies to all. I’ll go eat some worms, now.

Sooooo …

Thanxabunches, Steve - after a bit of squirrelin’ around on various sites, I got max satisfax - and converted to sheet in 2 keys - 1 for the idiotic way I do it on a D wsl, & 1 for the C. Actually, the D wsl version really helped me practice difficult half-holing challenges - my first note is a G#, and the last one, a low Eb . . . (on the Chieftain’s version). Playing it cleanly impresses the whistladies and makes them consider your other oral talents . . .
