Between 3 flutes

Hey all…figured I’d start another debate

I currently am self teaching the whistle, and taking lessons on the modern orchestral flute.

I play whistle/flute occasionally for a Irish Dance group that I dance in. Next year at the Az Ren Faire I will be playing a solo piece as part of our show.

I am looking for a good polymer flute (Since I don’t want to expose a good wooden flute to the Arizona desert in the early summer for 8 weekends). I am trying to decide between the dixon, the M&E, and the Seery.

  1. Best tone?
  2. Best that will adapt to seisun play when not at a faire?
  3. Does the split embouchure help? (M&E)
  4. Best overall opinion?

Any and all comments welcome…

I’d recommend either the Seery or a Rudall-Rose model of the M&E… I’ve played the first, own the second, both are quite useful session weapons…
