Belfast Piping Tionól Saturday, 5th, March 2011
This annual event is organised by Tom Clarke in association with Na Piobaire Uilleann and the Traditional Music Society. Tionól means gathering, and it is an opportunity for pipers to get together, learn and play.
There will be three workshops at this event. 2 piping workshops with Conor McKeon from the well-known Dublin musical family and Tíarnan Ó Duinchinn from Armagh.
In addition there will be a reed-making workshop with Robbie Hughes. There will be a free 15 minute recital from the tutors from 4:15-4:30, and an evening “piper’s chair” where participating pipers play. (Venue TBC for evening)
Workshops will all be held at the Crescent Arts Centre. £10.00, £8.00 for members of the Society, £5.00 for Half day.
