Beginner here...

Ah, a man after my own heart! Some of the first things I learned to play were worship songs and, of course, my all-time favorite, the theme from The Lord of the Rings. I must play that at least twice every day. My second favorite is “Be Thou My Vision,” an ancient Irish hymn, which, therefore, sounds great on a whistle! After about a year and a half of playing, I have memorized about 50 songs, about half Irish and half worship. Worship can be really rich on the whistle.
Have you visited the Praise Whistlers Abroad site? You ought to go there as well as here. These are great people.
My favorite tutorial was Grey Larsen’s “The Tin Whistle Toolbox,” with the CDs included with it. He so carefully instructs, and gives so many sound samples, even I could get it!

Where is that site? I would LOVE to fellowship with whistlers in that forum.
