Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that, after a year and a half of rebuild and mechanichal restoration, my 1964 (1973 re-shell) Morris Mini 1000 will soon be back on the road!!!
Later I plan to “Cooperize” it or even “V-tech” it, but for the next two or three years it will be all original!

I forget how many Minis got trashed during the making of The Italian Job (the Michael Caine one, not the modern rubbish copy), but it was more than eight.
Luckily most of the chase sequence got re-used in a MacGyver episode.
It was something like 50 or so…I cant remember for sure.
The Michael Caine version rocks. My wife bought it for me for Christmas.

I used to own lots of American muscle cars and some Japanese SpoComs that were pretty fast, but nothing can compare to the ride that I got from a turbocharged “v-teched” mini cooper. 0-60 in 2 seconds flat with drag slicks on the track!!!

Is that license plate street legal?
No, I take off my US plate for photos. I have a special bracket that allows me to lock-mount my US plate in my Euro plate holes, so I just mount the US plate over the Euro and take off the US for shows or pictures.
I’ve only been pulled over in it once…only because the cop didn’t know classic Minis were legal in the US now. I gave 'im a doughnut and he left me alone
