Beatbox on homemade flute, (polycarbonate and aluminum)

I got inspired of Doug Tipple and you others making simple flutes.
I bought a D flute from Doug a couple of months ago (I love them),
but I like making my own…

Anyhow, I had the possibility to lay my hands on a wonderful material,
black polycarbonate pipe, light weighted and strong.

Lately I have been trying to apply beatbox(!) into my flute practice.
I made a video about that today.
If you like you can take a look/hear at this adress:

I have also written a short description on that youtube channel.

To cover up rotten audio/video, I´ve put on some “effects” reverb ie.
I made the film with my mobile phone…

Please let me know what you think about it.
Whether I should shoot myself or if you think it could be a interesting path of fluting.

sounds cool. volume wise, how does it sound with out the effects? do you need to amplify it to be heard?

Thanks for responding Eilam!
There is for sure no need to amplify that flute.
I have actually been forced to use ear protection while practicing
Some mouth pieces has of course been messed up, they tend to be weak,
and doesn´t work in the upper register.
My embouchure doesns´t really allow me to go higher than G3
(at 0.43 in the video).

When I transferred the file from my mobile phone, I thought it sounds like horseshit.
Therefore I manipulate it a bit.
Maybe in the future with better equipment I can make a “plain” recording.

Very neat. Beat box flute can be rather interesting. I’ve amused myself for hours (wasted time) watching Greg Patillo’s videos on YouTube. Keep at the flute making and the beatboxing.
