BC Uilleann Pipers' Society Meeting Announcement

Hi,

I just wanted to announce the next meeting of the BC Uilleann Pipers’ Society. It will be held on the weekend of October 25-26 in Langley, BC. We will have the usual piping and reedmaking workshops as well as a session on the Saturday night. There is currently one loaner set free that will be available for use during the meeting.

We can be contacted at bc_ups@hotmail.com or 604-514-0883.

The BCUPS web site has also been updated with more pictures and information. It can be found at http://www.angelfire.com/bc2/uilleann/index.html

Hmmm…didn’t know Bruce Childress had a pipers society named after him. Way to go BC!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh Heh. BCUPS is the dark green truck that visitis my house more than any other residence on his route. And he hates the 80 lb. boxes from Gilmer.

Glands,

BC in the context of this message refers to “British Columbia” which is one of the provinces of Canada.

Cheers,

Virgil

OF COURSE!!! I knew I’d heard of the place. Don’t ask me why they refer to it as “British.” And, where did the Columbia come from? The space shuttle? Or, was it Columbus? Did he travel there? Why do some Americans refer to part of our country as “New England.” Hell, we won the freakin’ war over 200 years ago; and, it’s not vogue to speak of Columbus any longer…a bad boy he was indeed! I hope you realize my first post was to have a little fun with BC..that’s Bruce Childress, of course, who deserves to have a society named after 'im.
