Bass Whistles Found.

Hi whistlers,as you may or may not know Kerrywhistles has stopped making Bass whistles.
What I didn’t know was that we still have some let in a cupboard.
We have some C tuneables,Bb tuneables,and B naturals.
It was a surprise to me,so I’d like to sell them off real cheep on a first come basis.
The prices will be the same for all of them.
Please email me if your interested at
phil@kerrywhistles.demon.co.uk for prices.
All the best.

Phil.

Phil.

Dammit. Was just about to send you an email.

Same.

Phil, sometimes I really wish that necroposting like that would result in some kind of punishment. That was not fair :swear:

:swear:

ya got me…

Got me also. I was ready to forget about getting an A whistle that I was planing to get in the near future.

Do I take it that Bass whistles are flavor of the month?.
Phil.

WOW, :boggle: you have had those whistles a long time. Put me on the list for one.

Gah! Very funny Phil…and on my Birthday and everything…gah… :swear:

Phil, now you see there is a market for these whistles. Start making them again. You must have the specs, you could at least offer them as special order.

cheep ? :astonished:

Did youi mean bass or alto whistles?

Define cheap, please - I think that your cheap is bigger than my cheap!

This is an old thread,I don’t make whistles below tenor D.
Thats it.
Phil.

Does brass sound better in general?

Yes and no. Generally speaking.

Brass? The whistles in question were bass, as in a low singing voice.

Why?

That’s it, no more surfing, and especially no posting while working on Fluid Mechanics.

Hey Henke,in the end it came down to financial logistics, they just did not sell and I would have a rack of them laying around for years.
In business you muct always have a stock turnover otherwise you are out of business.
Romantic as the BASS whistles are, nobody really uses them, the size, the stretch, the breath requirement are all prohibitive.
Overton are still (as far as I know) making BASS whistles, they do cost much more they the average low D and you will not have that many oppotunities to use them.
Still want one?
Phil
ps ,I am looking into the idea of making tenor C bodies to fit the Chieftain low D tunables.
if you are interested in a C body let me know.
