I recently saw Barachois in concert; this is a group like no other!!! High energy, great Acadian music and dancing and hilariously funny. It is not enough to hear Barachois, you have to SEE them!
They are touring in the US and Great Britain in the coming months..if they are anywhere near you, you owe yourself a grand evening of entertainment. ( Unless you have a serious anti-French thing going. )

Despite my serious anti-french thing, I do have an open mind. I went to the link and and tried to hear a sound sample but it wouldn’t work. Just like the french.

I tried many sound samples and they all worked. I hadn’t heard of this band before, was great to discover them! Acadians have such a nice, melodious accent.. was in New Brunswick on vacation for a couple of years ago, and I actually managed to pick up the accent. It was the coolest thing. 
Are there any Acadians on the board?
Bagfed, no wonder you could’nt hear the sound samples from the bottom of Lake Michigan.
Hearing them is one thing, but seeing them is a totally awesome experience.
Emilie, do in-laws count? My mother-in-law (or as I’ve been told, my ‘belle mere’ )is French-Canadian from New Brunswick and my hubby speaks passable Francaise.
