Genuine north Indian bansuri by Jeff Whittier (“Bansuri Jeff”) for sale. This is a huge bamboo flute pitched in the (western) key of B. In Indian terms, where the dominant is used as the root, this is an “E bansuri”, such as played by Hariprasad Chaurasia. It requires c certain amount of digital dexterity in order to play properly, but once the technique is mastered, you have in your hands the ultimate, unkeyed low flute. The price is EUR 60, or equivalent in Sterling or Danish Kroner. I’d almost forgotten I had this instrument, but now I’m moving country (again), I’m trying to lighten the load.
