So over the Christmas break, I was down in California for a bit and wound up in a dodgy ethnic percussion store…They had a few bansaris in there and just for fun I thought I’d try them. Most of them were–not surprisingly–utter crap, but there was one in F that didn’t sound half bad and seeing as how it was 15 bucks, I bought it. It’s kinda fun to mess around with, but I’d be curious to try a bansari that’s actually of very good quality. Any recommendations out there?

Jeff Whittier seems to have good reviews…Tal’s the expert…I’m just now trying to figure them out… 
It isn’t clear to me that there is a significant difference tween
these and the Billy Miller windwood flutes listed below
on this page. Bamboo and six holes. The latter are cheaper,
in fact. Maybe Tal can fill me in.
If he doesn’t go appoplectic at that one !
