For anyone who has wondered, the Powdermill Barn and the Sweetheart whistle/flute/fife works have weathered the New England flooding of last week. I just talked to Walt, and all is well.
If you HAVEN’T been to the Sweet’s place, you have to understand that it sits only a few feet from a lovely little river that has the potential of storming its banks and sweeping away countless musical instruments. Northern CT was awash last week – water of biblical proportions. But I just spoke with Walt, and they were not flooded – Whew!

Beautiful spot, with dandy tubing in the river. If Walt is kind enough to let us use it again next summer for a Northeast Chiff and Fipple gathering, anyone even remotely nearby should really come.
BTW Tyg, Banks of the Scanitc and The Sweet’s Place would both be good tune names…
Hey Paul, L.E. McCollough (sp?) wrote a tune called “Banks of the Scantic” arter the gathering he posted the ABC on the thread about the gathering. Good to know that the Sweet’s came out ok. I am already excited about next year’s gathering…
