Whilst travelling through some of Australia’s most beautiful country, I chanced to vistit Spirit Winds, a shop at Montville on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Tony Richards , the owner makes many types of world instuments and was experimenting at the time with transverse bamboo flutes. He has just sent me one of his first D flutes and I reckon it is as good, if not better than any I have ever tried. It is a pleasure to play,so I have put an order in for a Bb one which he is now working on. At present he is leaving his shop to work from home and is also preparing a new web site so I shall provide his email address which is flutes@spiritwinds.com.au I shall not disclose the price I paid for my flute but they are going to be affordable and well worth it. Good to see an Aussie having a go !!!
