We’ve all been to web sites that want your email address. They say it’s “mandatory”. What? No, they don’t need it but they just want to spam your email. Yet you really want to look at the site. Even if it’s just once. What do you do?
Just make up a name, or word and append {at} mailinator {dot} com. Mailinator does the rest. It automatically creates an email then deletes it a few hours later. And it really works.
For example a few days ago I went to a news site that wanted my email before I could read the article. I typed "notlikelybuddy at mailinator dot com. (I actually used the @ and . )
All done.

You type in a URL, like www.nytimes.com and bugmenot gives you a name and password so you don’t have to sign up. Bugmenot even has a plugin for firefox, so when you get a login screen, you can right click and automatically fill out the form with bugmenot data
