Avanutria...I was playing your song today

While waiting for the Morris kids, I was warming up in the Fellowship Hall where we practice. It’s a great place to play…really good acoustics. Anyway, one of the tunes I played was “Dallas Skies.” When I finished it, I looked up from the music and saw the Morris teacher standing there looking misty-eyed. “That was just beautiful,” she said (and it was…the acoustics in there are perfect for long, sustained notes, and Morningsong was fully warmed up and doing her emotive best…she likes growing that high G). Anyway, figured I’d pass that along. That tune really is something.

I’ll second that, Beth.

It takes me awhile to learn a song – I’ve got the A part down but I haven’t learned the B part yet. It’s just lovely.

My daughter wants me to transcribe it so she can learn it on her flute. (Question for flute people. What’s the easiest key for a flute? She just started with the flute a couple of months ago in the fourth grade.)

Best wishes,
Jerry

It’s already in a good key for the flute.
