Drove up a canyon close to my home on Sunday afternoon to a little place called Silver Lake and thought some folks might like to see some of our autumn color:

Lovely indeed. Makes me wish I’d taken more pictures on my trip up to the Cairngorms.
There are two ski resorts within two miles of this place. I believe they get something like 20-30 feet of snow a year. Needless to say, you can’t walk around Silver Lake during the winter.

Thanks for posting these, Susan. I lived in Utah for a number of years and hiked the mountains there every chance I got. Hawaii’s a nice place to live, but I miss the Autumn months along the Wasatch front.
