-I wasn’t sure from your post whether your browser app was the problem or whether you meant your OS. If you think its the OS, do the easiest thing first, a desktop file rebuild. This irons out some pretty odd stuff on occasion. 1- Rebuild your desktop file while restarting, then restarting again. (This means holding down the Apple, Option and Shift keys while restarting. A dialogue box will appear to ask if you wish to rebuild your desktop file. Press “Yes”, while still holding down those keys, let the file rebuild finish, then do a restart to see if will kick your Mac into gear.

2-If that doesn’t work to get your OS going,
maybe a “Restore in Place” of your system files or a “Clean Install” (both from your original Mac software CD.

-I am no authority on this, but have been walked through it a few times by Apple tech support. -Good Luck!

Thanks Bri. I was just trying to delete this whole subject. I zapped the PRAM and rebuilt and voilá.

Guess I just HAD to ask in order to then think about another option. I swear, I never get smarter even though I work with the damn thing all day and actually get paid.

-Thats OK, I just now tumbled to the fact that Audacity is an app. My personal chip
is underclocked today.

Cheers

From the subject I thought you were saying “It doesn’t pay to use audacity in your dealings with others,” as in, be audacious. (Is that a word?)

HA! You must be literararary!

I’d like to think so, anyway

I use Audacity under Win95, and the homepage says it doesn’t work under that OS.

Well, its slow but I have managed to make some test recordings. Its one of those programs that you get the feeling is barely working. Barfly and Yaps are sort of like that too. Especially since I don’t want to become an expert at any of them but just want to use em for my whistling needs…

I was redoing Banks of the Ilen this am on Barfly to get it like Julia Clifford so i could send out pdf to fiddler and I couldn’t get an eighth rest for the longest time. It also has some mysterious spacing issues. But I know it was designed by somebody as desparate as me to just get back to playing!

With audacity, if I don’t do something right, it adds a track to the same file and I end up with stereo jigs, but not the same jig!
