Arms Too Short to Box With God & Hands Too Small for Low E &

Hello C&F Folks:

Well, I am getting more and more comfortable with the notion that I may not be cut out to play Low D and Low E whistles. The stretch is just too much for me. I would therefore like to swap a really clean Chieftain Low E–in excellent shape–and, possibly, a Susato Low D, for one or more good whistles, in order of preference, a decent Low F, then a decent quality D. (Not sure why I keep seeking D’s, since I already have at least two fine ones [Sindt & Silkstone]). In any event, swapping whistles is a great excuse for exchanging correspondnece with folks on the message board, so give me a holler if you are interested. The Chieftain is really nice, and has been well maintained by one of us. The Susato is…well, a Susato. It is the Kildare with the ‘adjustable’ head. They both have legs, I just can’t make 'em walk for me.

Have a Nice Day Unless You Have Made Other Plans!!

That’s because D is the most useful key, and because each maker’s whistle is very different. PVC is different from brass is different from wood is different from…I have quite a few D whistles, and sometimes one just seems to be the right one to play at that particular moment, for that particular tune. Viva la difference!
