My CD burner won’t work properly with the CD software (Roxio) but works fine with iTunes, which I assume means the Roxio is messed up. I can’t reinstall because I can’t find the disc.
Is there a FREE CD software I can download that’s good? All I want to do is be able to copy CDs and make CD’s from saved files and make data CD’s for backup.

Not that it will help you since it seems you are on a mac, but anyone on windows xp can use that to burn cd’s.

Free stuff:
There should be some basic disk burning capabilities via the finder, just insert a cd, drag and copy your files and select burn disk and there you go.
If you are running OS X you could check out Firestarter
Dragon burn is suppose to be good and easy to use, not free but you can download a fully working 30 day trial version from their website.

Actually, I’m on Windows. iTunes is available for Win now.
Then go with Nero.
I never liked running Roxio software in Win2k or XP.

Real Player works fine… remarkably easy really.
CDex is working for XP now. I use it to Rip not Burn though.
