Anyone have ABC for The Ferryman?

I am in search of the ABC Info or sheet music for the Ferryman. If anyone has this or knows where I can get it please point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

No, I wish it was available on the thesession.org. The song I am looking for is called the Ferryman written by Pete St. John.

I’m guessing that this in in copyright, making it in appropriate, and quite possibly illegal, for someone to write out and post on the internet. On the other hand, it’s a pretty straightforward tune. There’s a good chance that you could work it out after listening several times. Might be good practice if that’s not a skill you’ve mastered already.

Best wishes.

Steve

Ok, Thanks, Can anyone point me to the first 2 or three notes of the song I am attempting it in A Minor on a D Whistle.

Can’t find the ABC, only the words and chords.

The[G] little boats are gone from the[C] breast of Anna[G] Liffy
The[C] ferryman is stranded on the[D] quay
Sure the[G] Dublin docks is dying and a[C] way of life is[G] gone
And[D] Molly it was[D7] part of you and[G] me
[Chorus]
Where the[D] Strawberry beds sweep down to the[G] Liffy
You[C] kissed away the worry from my[D] brow
I[G] love you well today and I’ll[C] love you more to[G]morrow
If you[D] ever love me[D7] Molly love me[G] now

T’was the only job I knew it was hard but never lonely
The Liffy ferry made a man of me
And it’s gone without a whisper and forgotted even noe
And sure it’s over Molly over can’t you see

Well now I’ll tent the yard and I’ll spend me days in talking
And I’ll here them whisper Charlie’s on the dole
But Molly we’re still living and darling we’re still young
And that river never owned me heart and soul

Thank You for the chords, I am trying to use them to find the melody by using the root notes that make up the chord, but so far i havent found it yet. If anyone could give the first few notes I can get it from there. If not I understand… Thanks.

Huh? It’s in A major. BTW, those chords are obviously a tone lower than most people play this tune. I.E. they’re written out for playing it in G major. Just transpose them a tone up. Oh, except I’ve just tried them, and they’re wrong. Oh dear …

You are totally right. I meant A Major. Woops.

Just in case anyone who might be able to give me a few notes as a starting point for this song missed this. I am just looking for the first couple of notes for melody that follows the vocals in the Key of A major.

Any Help you can provide would be great. Thank You.

Hi WldRovr

Please excuse my first attempt at ABCing a tune.

Maybe somebody more into ABC notation can get it into proper shape (MTGuru can you do it?)
