2003 Celtic Voice Writing Contest
Guidelines
Greetings! The 2003 Celtic Voice Writing Contest will have two categories:
poetry and creative non-fiction/essays. We are looking for entries that
reflect the heritage of the six Celtic nations of Wales, Scotland, Ireland,
Cornwall, Isle of Man, and Brittany. Themes may reflect Celtic culture,
history, mythology, and spirituality. Open to all writers, any style is
welcome as long as it is Celtic-themed, simultaneous submissions ok, work
must not be previously published.
First-place winner in each category receives a cash prize of $50. Winning
entries will be published in a future anthology; authors will also receive
five copies of that edition. Any honorable mentions will be included in the
anthology as well and receive two copies of that edition.
Reading fee is $10, payable to Bardsong Press, and will cover:
1.Up to five poems total, each typed as you would like to see it
printed. – or – 2.
One creative non-fiction essay between 2500-5000 words in
length, typed and doubled-spaced.
Please staple all pages together and attach a cover sheet with your name,
address, e-mail address and category entered. Keep a copy of your work,
materials will not be returned. Winners will be notified by mail. Include
SASE for list of winners and honorable mentions if you wish to receive one.
Deadline: all entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2003. Please send
