Anybody seen one of these?

I ran across a picture of this whistle over at Whistle & Drum. They aren’t listed on the site, but you can order one from W&D. These are really cool looking whistles made over in Scotland. Just thought I’d share the link:

I’ve been playing a black one of these for 3 months now. They are really good whistles. It was my fourth low whistle and it’s the only one I play now.

They look like beautiful sculptures. The design lines are lovely. I know that isn’t the most important thing about an instrument. I am just commenting on the appearance.

They do look nice…very clean,so to speak.

Jack,

I’m thinking of making a purchase, maybe even with a special order color.

Can you direct me to any sound samples?

Thanks.

Tommy, I recorded a short piece of Killarney boys of pleasure here,

I’m not sure if it’ll work but it worked when I tried it. (It opens in Quicktime on my PC). It’s a bit rough but it might give you a bit of an idea about how they sound. Apparently they are selling well here in Glasgow, thanks to Folk Revolution stocking them, and the session I go to sometimes has three MK whistles. Misha is based in Glasgow now and I got my whistle direct from him at his workshop.

Thanks!
That helps a lot.
