Anybody live in St. Louis?

Hey everybody…My family and I are going to St. Louis on Wednesday. There is a music store there called “Music Folk”…My brother went on to their website and saw that they have an Irish session the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. To make that session, we would have to leave earlier then planned. I was just wondering if any of you St. Louis people have been and could tell me whether its worth checking out. Thanks!

Brent

Wow! I think your family is the greatest! Must be nice to have a family that would leave early just so you could go to a session!

I don’t know anything about this, but I’ll bump it to the top for you.

PS: What were you doing up so late, young man? I see 1:36am as your posting time!

I just love the subject line, a true straight line for the coastal urbanite smart-a#$es out there. Or a philosophical query…

Control, control…must…control…self..

I just want to try the ribs.

I see that dd (Debbie) claims St Louis as her base of operations…

Yes, Weekenders, I had to hold myself back too!

One small fries short of a Happy Meal…

We’re bad bad bad, Martin. But being a presumably beef-eatin Brit, you would probably enjoy the ribs too!

Friends, I think we all agree that the proper title for this thread would have been:

Does anybody actually live in St. Louis?

I’ve been to the session several times
and, no, I wouldn’t struggle to get
to it. Music Folk is definitely worth
checking out, on the other hand. If you
will be in town on Thurs night, there
is an acoustic jam session at Focal
Point each thurs, starting about 7, which is
worth a visit–very eclectic, all
sorts of instruments (well played) and music.
Music Folk will tell you how to get
there.

Hey now…someone does live here! :stuck_out_tongue:

I love visiting Music Folk just to peruse all the instruments, however had heard that their sessions aren’t particularly good (see Jim’s post above.) A visit to McGurk’s Irish Pub can be great fun too. However, be aware that it is a pub and serves alcohol. They have some good music though.

As for ribs, I can fairly confidently say that the baby-backs I make are quite enjoyable.

Well, I’m headed to Tulsa this Friday evening. Wish there was music there to be found on Saturday night.
