It is just one track from unnamed audiotape, i get the copy of it about 9 years ago. I’ve search for these tunes at thesession.org, but didn’t found such a set.
The quality is very poor, sorry.

The band is Oisin. The track is track 1 from their ‘Celtic Dream’ recording.
The liner notes list the tunes as Summer In Ireland’s (Dowd’s #9)/Mungo Kelly’s/Capel Street. I’m wondering if the last tune is mis-identified in the liner notes. I’d identify it as Mrs. Crehan’s.
“… you discover that everything is just right: the drones steady and sonorous, the regulators crisp and tuneful and the chanter sweet and responsive. … I really look forward to those five or six days every year.” Robbie Hannan
Ha! Great siggy line, Bill. I was just thinking that very thing myself a few days ago. ![]()
Thank you, Bill!
I’ll try to find that CD now)
You’re quite right about the “Celtic Dream” recording, Bill, but that particular CD is a compilation, with tracks from 2 “Oisin” recordings, “Winds Of Change” and “The Jeannie C.”
The set first appeared on “Winds Of Change” I believe, - a minor point, but it means for Sandy that there are actually 2 recordings out there with this track on it. “Celtic Dream” would be better value, with 18 tracks on it, as opposed to 10 on “Winds Of Change”.
Certainly some great playing on those CDs.
Don’t know where they got the tune titles from, though. 1st one is usually called “Dowd’s No.9”. And yes, “Mrs Crehan’s” is the 3rd.

I remember having a cassette recording of ‘The Jeannie C’ and some of the other Oisin recordings years ago, but don’t remember ‘Winds of Change’. Those tapes wore out long ago and I was delighted when the recordings were released on cd. I knew one of the recordings was a compilation. Thanks for filling in the details!
