What’s it like? Is is tunable?
It is sublime. It would be one of the last ones I’d toss out of the lifeboat.
Mine’s not tunable but Colin makes them tunable for those who wish to tune.
Well, I’ve got over 50 whistles, many high end, and the Overton Bb is among my top 3 most frequently played. Mine is non tunable, however, the pitch is perfect as is. The craftsmenship is outstanding, and its just a great well balanced and comfortable whistle. Dale’s sublime description is well put. It got a wonderfully chiffy, warm and “low” tone. Finger spacing and tone hole size are finger pad easy, even for small hands. I can’t recommend it highly enough

Thanks guys. There is one for sale and I’m tempted.
I have a Bernard-made, non-tunable Bb that is one of my favourite whistles. Right up there with my favourite Abells, Grinters, Copelands, Burkes and several other Overtons.
I have a Bb Overton that Colin Goldie made especially for me. I t is my very favorite whistle among some 25 ranging from High G down to Low D (no Overtons but my new Bb). It is not tunable, nor does it need to be, for my purposes. It is so perfectly in tune every time I play it! And, wow is it gorgeous to look at, listen to, play, feel etc. It is a
REAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT! I like it so much that I am on a waiting list for two Overton Modal whistles from Colin Goldie. ( his D/C Modal whistle and his F/G Modal whistle) With these 3 whistles and my Casey Burns Boxwood Irish Flute, My possibilities should be awesome in playing any Irish Trad or songs. I simply love to play Airs, Jigs, Reels,Hornpipes, Polkas, Mazurkas, etc. on my Overton Bb. And Colin and Brigette Goldie are delightful people to work with. There is a waiting period, but, to me it has been worth it. Don
