Anybody else not get their rebate yet that should have?

We filed our taxes electronically back in February, and had our refund direct-deposited in our account. According to the schedule on the IRS site, based on our social security numbers, we should have been in the first wave of rebates, all of which were supposed to have been direct deposited as of today. But I’ve received no notice from the IRS (other than the mailing they sent out a while back announcing that the stimulus package had been approved), and there’s nothing new in my account.

Has anyone else encountered this? I double checked my tax return, and we definitely qualify.

If you’ve received your payment via direct deposit, what kind of notification did you get beforehand?

Mine was a no show, too, and I fit the criteria to get it early.
However, I think they were only doing 800,000 a day since tuesday, so there’s a lot of us that could have gotten it but haven’t.

There’s also limits/rules. Not everyone gets one. Unfortunately I’m in that class…

..

It looks like, if this has been updated, ours could be until the 9th.

It’ll get here eventually. I’m not worried. It’s going in the bank anyway.

I know, but we do qualify.

If we’re not the only ones, then I won’t worry. I got concerned when the IRS website stated firmly that all dd’s for t his first wave would be deposited by 5/2.

We haven’t received ours yet, either.

We weren’t supposed to get ours until the 9th. It was deposited in our account this morning. No notification whatsoever. My wife just happened to be paying the bills and noticed more money in our account.

Whatcha gonna buy? A new Whistle?

I’m afraid that in–of necessity–re-engineering the whole financial schema we sold off 5 rental properties in the Spring of '07.
Fortunately, this occurred just before the market for real estate imploded.
Unfortunately, the proceeds count as “income.” Not that we could spend it.
Don’t worry. The IRS ate a healthy chunk and came back for seconds.
But I’m pretty sure that, according to the rules, we were sufficiently stimulated by the sales that the gubmint has no further use for our potential as consumers.
Fine. I wouldn’t have spent it anyway. Pbbbbtthhhhhbbt!

Were you in the proposed “first wave” group?

The IRS website is no help at all. Now they’re saying that you’ll receive notification about a week before you get your money…but it seems that people here are getting no notification at all. If you use their “where is my rebate” utility, even if you’re in the group that was supposed to get disbursements by Friday, it says it can’t check on your rebate yet, and “please check the schedule.”

That’s your government waste at work. :astonished:

I can’t even figure out when I’m due to receive the “economic stimulus,” though I’m pretty sure I qualify. I know that no matter what I’m in the last group, due to the ending of my SSN. I owed money on my taxes, though, so I don’t know if mine comes with the “direct deposit” or the “paper check” group, since I didn’t have an ordinary tax rebate to direct deposit.

It will be nice to get back some of what I owed this year. I didn’t realize that I wouldn’t get the child tax credit for my son who turned 17 at the very end of 2007. It seems like an odd age cut-off to me: don’t most kids graduate high school at 18? If so, why have a special tax credit that ends at age 16?

I don’t even pretend to understand the tax system. :boggle:

Well…

Yes, true to my American-ness, I sent some money immediately over the border to Canada to buy a set of Purpleheart Rovers from David. I’ve been drooling over those for far too long.

Interesting update on this (no, I still haven’t gotten my rebate, and the “where is my rebate” utility at irs.gov is still saying “we have no information on your specific rebate”). My mom works for a credit union, and she says that customers are really up in arms because a lot of people who have had reason to expect their rebates to be deposited in their accounts during the past two weeks (based on the schedule on the IRS website) haven’t gotten them.

Good news, bad news. Good news: my wife and I received our $1200 stimulus rebate yesterday. Bad news: it was deposited in her checking account.

Ain’t that always the way?

Were you guys in the supposed “first wave” (the ones who were supposed to have gotten their rebates a week ago)?

That’s what’s irritating me. My husband’s ssn ends in 14 and mine ends in 07, so regardless of which they used, we should have had ours by May 2.

Redwolf

Got mine last week.

we got our yesterday. It’s based on my SSN (I’m first on the taxes) which ends in -56.
