Hi all,
I’m making my first visit to Vancouver and The Rockies this August. Very excited! 
I plan to bring at least one whistle with me if space in my sack allows, so I was wondering if there is a session in the area I could pop along to?!

The Irish Heather has a session every Tuesday and Thursday. They generally
start around 8pm-ish.
Rumour has it that Doolin’s has a session every Monday and Wednesday. Don’t quote me on that one as I only go to the Heather sessions.
Wish you had been here tonight. The session at the Heather could have used a whistle.
If you don’t have space for a whistle in your kit, you can use one of mine. I have about 8 or so. I don’t play in sessions yet but I do show up and listen a couple of times a month.

I’m on the other side of the mountains in Calgary, Alberta but there is a session going on at the James Joyce (8th Ave SW) every Saturday 2-5pm. If you happen to make it out this way it’s something to keep in mind.

The Wolf and Hound on West Broadway has a nice session on Wednesdays. I haven’t been to it for a couple months, so don’t know if starts at 7:30 or 8:00 these days though.

The Wolf and Hound (3600 blk West Broadway) has sessions Mondays and Wednesdays, starting 8:30. or so.
The Jericho Folk Club (http://www.jsca.bc.ca/folk_club.htm) has a session/open mic/featured performer Tuesdays, starting at 7:30
man! All these Vancouverites coming out of the woodwork!

No - but I’ve taken some - from Prussin Music (next door to Wolf and Hound)
It’s about time. I’m in Burnaby 2-3 times a week. Vancouver is way easier to get to than Seattle. The slow session in Bellingham is more my speed but I always like to see what’s on the next level.
Any other lurkers from the lower mainland know of some sessions?

Just to report back…
I had a wonderful time at the Wolf and Hound session in Vancouver last Wednesday, chiffed in on a couple of tunes I knew and also got to meet PeterBB who is great.
Hopefully will get chance to do it again in a few weeks, before I head back to the UK. May even remember my camera to capture the occasion!

I played in several sessions this week at Goderich with a group of very nice people from Vancouver. Lucky folks-they can go to session every night there!
