As part of a year’s sabbatical from teaching I will be working in Banff, Alberta from Jan 2007.
Was just wondering if anyone knows of any sessions in the Banff/Canmore area or indeed of any players round and about? I will be bringing whistles and my accordion with me from sunny England!

Anyone know of anything in Calgary…?
We were in Banff for vacation (aka holiday) in August, and just missed the Canmore Folk Festival. I picked up a brochure about it and there seem to be several clubs that have ads, so there must be something going on there year-round.

Bring warm clothes - even in August it was chilly. We were camping in a tent, and at night we needed a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and lightweight jacket. It warmed up nicely during the day. Calgary is lower in elevation so it’s warmer.
