I’m wondering if there are any good concerts scheduled within the next few weeks in Chicago. Also, what are the good live music clubs in the Chicago area for chiff and fipple(ers)? What’s the best way to check for these? Internet sites? Thank you.
At the risk of looking like this is a “set up” for me to announce the 49th annual University of Chicago Folk Festival, yeah, there will be concerts the evenings of 6-8 Feb. but during the day on Sat. & Sun. there will be free (donation optional) workshops and multiple opportunities for sessions at the university’s Ida Noyes Hall.
All year long there are lots of concerts and opportunities for sessions at the not for profit
Irish American Heritage Center
Old Town School of Folk Music
and at bars and restaurants all over town and the neighboring suburbs.
